Rattley Rabbit

I genuinely enjoy making things for people, especially when I know the recipients.  Recently, some friends had a beautiful baby girl. Cue: crochet!

You'll have to excuse the less-than-perfect photos, I was keen to get it wrapped and delivered in time to steal a cuddle while she's still absolutely teeny and sleeps a lot (so less likely to cry when picked up - I know. Shallow.)

Anyway, once I knew she was a she, I cracked open the pink yarn and soon had a ring and a pair of ears waiting patiently to be joined to a head. Thankfully, the rattle insert arrived (thank you, eBay) just in the nick of time...

I couldn't help myself, I had to add a tail...

The pattern was largely made up of other patterns. The ears, for example, are from the bunnies I made last Easter and the head is taken from the mousie cat toy.  I just had to wing it when it came to the ring. I was pretty pleased with the end result and if I can get my act together, I'll write up the pattern - they do make cute new baby gifts!

  1. How adorable, I'm positive you enjoyed snuggling with that little girl too. Brilliant idea to combine different patterns to come up with a one of a kind gift.
